Gone, But Not Forgotten

On Friday, November 13, we experience the loss of a loved one.

For some of you that saw the news, or was in traffic, there was a fatal crash involving eight cars on I 15 just passed Draper. The man that caused all the accidents was said to be driving recklessly and erratically. Well just so that everyone is on the same page, Sheldon Taylor had a stroke that caused the first small accidents, then leading to a massive heart attack on impact.

My Uncle was a very good man that had a good head on his shoulders, loved the church, his family, friends and cared for everyone around him. He was the only brother out of three sisters, being the third in the family. During this tragedy, my mom was gone in Korean helping my brother with my new born niece, Sienna, while my sister in law Eunhi was back at the hospital with an infection. (They are doing a lot better now, and out of the hospital) Luckily my dad was able to be there with her since she could not be there at the funeral and help my brother.

I know that my Uncle is in a better place continuing the Lord's work. I love my Uncle and grateful I could have him in my life.

"Christ both lived and died for us. By walking in his steps and through his atonement we can gain the greatest gift of all--eternal life--which is that kind of life of the great Eternal One, our Father in heaven." - Ezra Taft Benson

I love you Uncle Sheldon. May God be with you and bless you.

Not very much going on

Alright, I have not been on here in awhile. Not too much is going on, but it is always good I think to just say a couple things that has been going on. Well, just last week (Well, whenever the 26th was) my brother Clint left for the MTC. He will be going to the Tallahassee, Florida mission, and he seems really exited for it. He has written us a couple times since he has been at the MTC, but yeah. Well, I FINALLY got a job. I pretty much just went back to Classic Fun Center. I worked there before, and it was okay, but I really like it a lot better now. I just mostly clean and cover almost everyone’s shifts. Today I worked a good long twelve hour shift.... With only two hours of sleep ha ha. I am still very awake and not tired at all, crazy huh? I am slowly starting to become anti-social. I pretty much am right now, just cause I rarely hang out with friends now a days. But it's all good. I have work and sleep. Other than that, not too much is going on. My cousin and his friend and I just went for a midnight swim. I got out cause I got way too cold for my comfort. Tomorrow we might go long boarding before I have to work a long ten hour shift! Good thing I am used to it though! Sorry my blog is really boring. My camera got stolen the last time I was at Lagoon, so I will hopefully be getting one soon.

Busy Busy!!

Alright, I know I just put a post up, but I might as well fill in what I will be up to in the next two weeks cause I know I won't be on for awhile. Well just recently I got a job at Classic Fun Center. I have worked there before, but I just need something to help me with school. (and mostly to get a phone) I officially start working on the twenty ninth, but my brother-in-law Patrick, told me that they might be needing me to start possibly tomorrow only cause seven people are quitting to go off to college. Well this is going to be crazy cause I will be working on Monday, possibly Tuesday, then go up to the cabin that Tuesday night, come home Wednesday go to my cousins that night then come home Thursday then leave for Arizona on Friday. I know it doesn't seem a lot, but... it is! Most of it is just possibilities right now, but I am sure I will find a way to make it all work out. I really can't wait to start working though. I want to work a lot so that I can start to support myself. I really want to be a lot more independent then I am right now (which, to be honest is not very much. Ha ha) I think since I am willing enough to work so much and save money and get a good budget, I will be fine in the "real world". So after having this up, all I will really be doing is just working, so not all that much. I don't have much of a social life to really do anything but work, so it will all be good! :)

Homecomings and Farewells

Well, today was my brother Clint's LDS mission farewell and my friend Nate Gotchy's homecoming. It only seems like yesterday Clint got his mission call. He received it July 15, same day as his birthday. So it's crazy how fast time flew. At sacrament meeting, there were SO many people there. I have never seen the church full with people before, so I was glad for the people that came to support him. Other then that, Dallin, Delsi, Erin, Joe and I got there a bit late so we couldn't get a good seat, so Erin and Joe went to the back and Dallin, Delsi and I went up to the front row! It was kind of awkward cause I have never sat that close before. After Clint had started with his talk, he was talking about people he was thankful for, and when he was talking about my mom, he was trying to say a poem he wrote for her. So he is up there crying, and me... Let's just say when I am emotional (usually when I'm scared or trying not to cry) I start laughing. I started to tear cause I really felt that love he has for my mom but I just didn't want to cry! I felt kind of bad though after cause he told me he could hear me and he was trying not to laugh. Kind of funny if you ask me. Well after he was done, Nate was next to talk about the mission. He had a really good talk, and a couple things he talked about really hit me. Things that I felt a small struggle with but his talk kind of helped my look on that subject. Altogether it was a good session. After, everyone came up to our house for some refreshments afterwards. Luckily we have a big backyard cause we had SO many people there! Well, I will for sure miss Clint when he leaves. I will be home alone so it will be very boring. It was good seeing Gotchy though! I have missed that kid even though I never really saw him all that much, but I love him anyway! Speaking of homecomings and farewells makes me think about my friend Cameron that is in Belgium right now. He will be getting home soon and I honestly can't wait! He's my best friend and it will be great to see him again and catch up and go to concerts!

Quick Update

Okay, so I have not been putting up post recently, besides the puppies one, I only did that out of boredom. I would put pictures up from hanging out and everything too, but I lost my camera at Lagoon one day, and when I went back to get it the foreigner told me that some girl took it. I checked lost and found that day and it wasn't turned in. I am ticked, and sad about it, but I can always buy another one. Anyway, not all that much has been going on. Siri and I took the kids up to the cabin just the other week for a Henderson family meeting they were having for the new cabin. I took Connor for a four wheeling drive and like before, he fell asleep in my arms. On my way back up to the cabin, Siri took Addie for a quick ride to come look for me cause it was getting late, and when I met up with her, she was shocked to see Connor asleep. It was really funny, but cute at the same time. When we got back, they were having their family meeting and I was watching all of their kids. It kind of made me laugh a bit cause they all felt bad when I was watching all their kids. I didn't mind watching them at all. I am used to watching 10+ kids, so all I needed to do was get them popcorn and a drink or their sippy cups. Pretty easy if you ask me. Well sometime after the cabin, my sisters and I took Siri's kids and Cami's nieces to Lagoon. I took Sammy on the "big kid" rides and it was really fun! I felt a little bad when I took her on the Spider. On the first drop, I see her grab on the to bar as tightly as she could. So just to comfort her, I put my arm in front of her, but she ended up liking it. Just the other day, Siri and I took the kids to Cherry Hill. I remember being there once before, but I was four or five. Addie and Connor loved every minute of it. I took Addie on the tube river and she loved it! I thought it was kind of funny, cause when you go on the drops and you are hanging on to another tube, the current pulls you and Siri would be watching us and just her face when I got pulled would be funny to watch. It was pretty fun going, but I told Siri that we should take them to Lagoon-A-Beach sometime, so that should be fun if we get the chance before she leaves for Arizona. It turns out that I am not moving to Arizona anymore. I kind of wish I were still, but I really need a job, and Travis hired me to work at Classic Fun Center. I have worked there before, so it should be fairly easy. I will be going down to help Siri with the drive down though, so even that will be fun. I am not too sure when we are leaving, but it will be before my brother Clint leaves for the MTC. Clint will be leaving on August 26, and his farewell is this next Sunday, so if anyone wants to come, sacrament starts at eleven so be there just ten minutes before. These past couple of days, Connor has not been sleeping very well. He would wake up from either stomach aches or from night terrors. I felt bad cause Siri would be waking up almost every hour and one day she took Connor downstairs to let him cry and fall asleep. Usually he does fall asleep, but he just wasn't. So after ten minutes, I went in and got him, took him upstairs and made him a bottle and just sat with him. My mom thought it would be a good idea if I slept with him that night, so I took him downstairs and just held him. After awhile, I just laid him down and fell asleep with him in my arms. He slept through the whole night. A night later, I offered to sleep with him so that my sister could get some sleep and so that Addie didn't wake up crying not knowing where mommy is. Well, this night just went to same as the last. He did wake up once, but he was dreaming, and started talking and saying something about a dog. He seemed kind of scared just from him wiggling around and the tone of his voice. But after he just grabbed his boo and when back to sleep. Well sometime in the morning, he started to move around a bit, and I sat up just a bit with my forearms against the bed then he rolled over and put his arms around my arm. My only thought was "Great, I won't be able to lay down". Then just fifteen seconds after, he looked up at me and say "Hi Shelli!". It was so funny! Then he sat up while I was laying down, and he bent over and gave me a kiss. I just laughed and started to play with him and just took him upstairs after I had rocked him for a bit. Yesterday, Siri and my parents went with Clint to get his endowments out. I was watching Addie and Connor till they were done to meet them at dinner. Just around the time they would be done, I asked if Camille if she would want to go to the park before she started baby sitting so that the kids could get used to her. When we got to Layton Park, I couldn't find anywhere to park so took them to Castle Park. It was pretty lucky going there cause Fruit Heights was having some fair thing so I took the advantage and let Addie and Connor do some of the activities. I spoiled them too and got them cotton candy and a popsicle, and let me tell you, their faces were so sticky and messy from the treats. I thought it was quite funny really. Okay, sorry that was longer then I expected.

little moments

Alright, I have not posted anything up in awhile, so I am just going to make a quick comment. The past few days, Connor has been such a sweetheart! The moments I have with my nephew make it so that I can't wait to have children of my own. Usually when I want to hold him he will want his mommy the second he sees her, but lately when I hold him, he just relaxes in my arms and cuddles with me. Sometimes I hold him at night just before he goes to bed, but the second he hears or sees Siri, he wants her.
Just the other day, Adelyn and Connor were out playing in the dirt and he had got some dirt in his eyes and just been crying. I told Addie that it was time for tubby and took her and the "screaming cause there is dirt in my eyes" child to the bathroom. By this time, I had already rinsed and wiped the dirt out of Connors eyes, but he kept crying and refused to sit in the tub. I hurried and dumped water on his head to get the dirt out of his hair (thus making him cry more) washed and wrapped in a towel. Well unfortunately he was still crying, but not screaming. (thank the heaven above) I got up to go get his boo, aka:binky, and grabbed his blanky and went back in the bathroom to watch Addie. While holding Conner wrapped in a wet towel and holding his blanky, I decided to calm him some more and start singing whatever came to my head. Just watching him in the mirror get comforted and falling asleep was probably one of the most cherishing moments I have ever had.
The moments I have with my nieces and nephews makes me feel a glimpse to what it feels like to be a mother. I love them as if they were my own and just those little moments I have are good enough for me.

MoViE nIgHtS

Earlier today, Siri and I took Adelyn and Connor to go see "Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs". Siri and I were the only ones laughing through out the entire movie! Addie really liked it too of course, but we were just laughing at the adult humor in the movie. It was really cute and obviously funny! I think it was a lot better than the first two movies, but that is just my opinion. It was cute watching Connor dance on some of the parts, even though he wanted to be up and walking around.

Later tonight, Siri and I did not have anything much to do. But really, what can you do on a Monday night? So with Siri being husband-less and me being boyfriend-less, we decided to have a sister date night and go see "The Proposal". I will tell you this right now, it was one of the FUNNIEST movies I have ever seen! What made the movie even funnier was that Oscar Nunez from "The Office" was on it and he was pretty much the icing on the cake for the movie. I really liked it a lot and I would see it again!

Jon Schmidt

Alright, so I know that putting up a post of Jon Schmidt is a tad bit random, but I honestly have been constantly listening to a new song he just arranged for a new album coming out called "Bonus Tracks". Ever since I got an email of his new cd, I have stopped listening to "Love Story meets Viva La Vida". For most people that don't know what those songs are, Love Story was written by Taylor Swift and Viva La Vida was written by Coldplay and obviously he put them together! I LOVE this song and have been waiting impatiently for it. (And i promised Cameron I would send him a cd when it came out) Unfortunately, they were being sued I guess for the song, or maybe even a different one, but they are just working on finalizing licensing agreements. Anyway, since I have been showing nearly EVERYONE the new song and the music video for the past two months now, I decided just to post it up.

Happy Independance Day

Tony's cannonball
Clint in mid-air and getting hit with a noodle
For the 4Th of July, my cousins and aunt Trice came up to celebrate wonderful Independence Day with us. Earlier, we had a barbecue and went swimming for most of the morning and late in the afternoon. The water was perfect, as well was the weather. The rain from earlier didn't stop our fun. But when does it ever? Our family parties are pretty awesome I think.
My cousin Abby and me
My corkscrew
The boys jumping in and Clint falling on his bum
After we went swimming, we all got ready and chatted or play Super Smash Bros till it was ready for everyone to go. Just to say, when you play Smash Bros longer than twenty minutes, you intend to get bored, so I went upstairs and took some pictures. Now I know there are a lot of pictures of me, but I promise you I am not conceited. :)
My cousin Chelsie and me
My Donald Trump pose and Tony in the back
Well, after everyone finally got ready, we left to go wait for the fireworks to start. We went to Clearfield High. All we did was sit around and talk to everyone and watched the kids play. Addie, Elizabeth, Ryan and Tal ended up tackling me most of the time, but it was something to do till the fireworks, and because I am the best aunt ever of course!!
Mosquito bites on your feet are the WORSE!

This is a game for Connor. When he has his binky in, I get it with my teeth, and he takes it back with his. He thinks it is so much fun
This is not even half our family

My cousin Taylor and me
Abby and Tony playing with Addie
Tony and I started getting bored, so I asked him if he wanted to play bloody knuckles, but instead, we played some slap game that he and Taylor play. We were hitting each other has hard as we could. It was so fun and funny.
Well finally the fireworks started!! My pictures do not look good at all cause my camera was not working so that I could change it to a "firework" scene, so I just did what I could. These are just temporary just till I can get the pictures off my cousins camera.
Then finally after all the fireworks were done, Clint, Taylor and I went to Beto's. Good thing Clint knew the guy that was helping us, cause he gave us fresh hot food! Well, and Clint tipped him before he even gave us the food too.

Lagoon--Fun Starts Here

Today, Siri and I took Addie and Connor to Lagoon! Even just going on the kid rides, it was pretty fun. It was funny to watch Addie get exited to go on the rides. Just her reaction was priceless. Unfortunatly I did not bring a camera, but we are going to be going again next week and do the Lagoon-A-Beach. They also had a new ride there and it was so fun! I mean, it went in circles, but it went so fast! Addie was scared of it at first, but she ended up liking it. She mostly liked the swings for the little kids and the boat. We were only there for a short time cause Siri had a family in-law party she had to go to. So hopefully I remember a camera for next week.

Arizona to Utah (june 19,2009)

So Siri and I were finally going to drive to Utah without stopping at a hotel or anything. So it was a pretty long drive! But it was fun at the same time. The kids were really good and got just a bit fussy towards the end of the drive. Fifteen hours of disney shows and and Mickey Mouse club, I am sure it gets a little boring after awhile, but we made it!
The funny thing about the drive was just after ten minutes we left, Siri ended up getting pulled over. Sean had put this block on the license plate so that the traffic cameras did not recognize the number and they would not get a ticket. Well, unfortunatly the cop was watching her and pulled up behind us to check and pulled us over. Luckily she did not get a ticket for it, but it was still funny at the same time.
Small town of Cameron. The sign says "Cameron trading post". I was going to send this to my friend, but I decided not to.

Arizona, here I come! (June 17, 2009)

Utah all cloudy
Just last week, I went down to Arizona just so that I could help Siri with the kids on the drive up to Utah. It was fun being there, but DANG it was hot!!
I flew in at about noonish, and when I first got there, Addie wanted to show me the water blow up toy they had, so we ended up doing that.
The day of, or day later, Siri took me to the outlet mall so that she could pick up some luggage for her and Sean. I only bought a swim suit. Yeah pretty boring right?
Just a day before we had to leave, Sean, Siri, Seth, Cassie and I went out to eat just so that I could see them before we headed back to Utah. We went to The Cheesecake Factory and it was pretty good. I atleast liked the drink I got. I will admit, I miss the heat, but not how humid it was while I was down there. Maybe some time I can go down and get the chance to go to Sedona like everyone else in my family has, but we will just have to see.
Connor sliding down the slide. Ha ha
Addie got so much speed going down!
I loved this little car!
